Our Full Day Horseback Riding Tour is an ethical adventure that takes you along Costa Rica’s breathtaking Southern Caribbean coastline on rescued horses, combining nature, wildlife and responsible tourism.

Ride our rescued horses along pristine beaches, rainforest trails and spectacular coastal landscapes while discovering the region’s incredible biodiversity and experiencing our philosophy of Natural Horsemanship, horse welfare and responsible tourism.

Your adventure begins at 9:30 a.m. from our stables in Cocles. From there, we ride south along Costa Rica’s spectacular Caribbean coastline, passing the beautiful Natural Pools, Playa Cocles, Playa Chiquita, Punta Uva, Playa Arrecife and, depending on the route and the day’s conditions, Playa Grande and Manzanillo.

Unlike fixed itineraries, every Full Day Tour is adapted to the participants. According to the riding experience of the group, trail and weather conditions, and your personal preferences, your guide will adjust the pace, route and lunch stop to create the best possible experience while always prioritizing safety, horse welfare and your enjoyment.

Lunch is included and is served at one of our favorite local restaurants in Punta Uva, Playa Arrecife or Manzanillo, depending on the itinerary chosen during the day. The meal includes a traditional Costa Rican dish (Casado or a similar local meal) together with one beverage, such as bottled water, a soft drink, fresh coconut water or a local beer. Premium dishes and alcoholic beverages beyond beer are not included.

This Full Day Horseback Riding Tour is recommended for riders with previous horseback riding experience or for active travelers who enjoy spending an entire day exploring nature on horseback. Guests looking for a shorter or more relaxed ride may prefer one of our shorter horseback riding experiences, while this tour is designed for those who want to fully immerse themselves in the landscapes and natural beauty of Costa Rica’s Southern Caribbean.

Throughout the day, you’ll ride horses that have been rescued from neglect and are now part of our long-term rehabilitation project. Every experience directly supports ethical horse care, responsible tourism and environmental conservation. Riding with Caribe Horse is much more than a horseback riding tour—it’s an opportunity to experience Costa Rica while supporting a project dedicated to animal welfare, sustainability and the respectful relationship between horses and humans.

If you would like an even more personalized experience, this tour can also be booked as a Private Tour Upgrade. A private tour allows your guide to tailor the pace, route and overall experience entirely to your group, making it an excellent choice for experienced riders, couples, families, photographers or anyone seeking greater flexibility and personal attention.

For experienced riders, it is also possible to add our unforgettable Horse Swimming Experience for an additional fee. Because horse welfare and rider safety always come first, this activity is only available when sea and weather conditions are suitable and our guides determine that it can be carried out safely.
